Talvin Singh est un musicien, DJ, joueur de tabla et chanteur, indo-anglais né à Londres en 1970. En 1991, il est recruté par le groupe Siouxsie and the Banshees pour jouer des tablas et chanter sur leur single Kiss Them for Me. À 20 ans à peine, il tourne avec le groupe jusqu’au début de l’année 1992. Björk l’engage ensuite e 1993 pour être son percussionniste sur l’album Debut.

Björk and Nellee wanted Indian rhythms and big, dreamy Bollywood strings, so they flew me out to Mumbai. I recorded on tape, for that vintage Bollywood feel, and when I brought them back, Nellee was at the airport to get them ! The trust between Nellee and Björk, there was a magic in that. Also, she was shedding her past, personally and musically. I remember thinking that very strongly.
